Software Project Scope Builder

Plan Your Software Project

Turn your workflow, users and integration needs into a practical project brief. Identify what you know, what needs discovery and how the first release should be accepted.

Prospective project owner and solutions architect discussing scope and systems, with a Proposal Planning UI card showing Objectives & Workflows and Existing Systems.

Build your initial project brief

Start with what you know. Unanswered items remain open questions. Your answers stay in this page and are cleared when you leave or reload; copy or download the brief to keep it. Nothing is submitted to our team.

What does the project need?

Describe the trigger, steps, current problem and what should happen when something goes wrong.

List user groups, approximate numbers, approvers and the person who will accept the first release.

List applications, payment providers or APIs. State whether access is confirmed or still unknown.

Describe record types, approximate volumes, source owners and sensitivity. Do not paste personal records or credentials.

Include your target date, dependencies, budget constraints if known, and departments or sites in the first phase.

Describe an observable acceptance test, including a failure or correction path.

Updates as you write. This is a planning draft, not a price estimate or an agreed specification.

Ready to discuss it? Contact our team and paste your reviewed brief into the enquiry.

What makes a useful software brief?

Describe one complete task: who starts it, which records it uses, who approves it, what happens next and how errors are corrected. Identify the systems and data you need to keep. A target date is a constraint to investigate, not a confirmed delivery promise.

Example acceptance criterion

For an illustrative payment workflow: a confirmed payment updates the correct invoice once; a duplicate event does not change its balance again; an unknown reference is visible to an authorized reviewer. This is a planning example, not evidence from a deployed system.
